KTcos® Ceramides
KTcos® Ceramides are a class of phospholipids with ceramide as the backbone, primarily including ceramide phosphatidylcholine and ceramide phosphoethanolamine. These phospholipids are the main components of cell membranes, with ceramides making up 40%-50% of the sebum in the stratum corneum. Ceramides are a key element of the intercellular matrix and play a vital role in maintaining the moisture balance of the skin’s outer layer.
Ceramides have a strong ability to associate with water molecules, forming a network structure within the stratum corneum to help retain skin moisture. As one of the latest generations of moisturizers, KTcos® Ceramides are a water-soluble lipid substance that closely resembles the structure of skin’s natural barrier. They quickly penetrate the skin and combine with water in the stratum corneum, creating a network that locks in moisture.
